Ensure the overall operations of the assembly equipment. The primary responsibilities are to operate assembly machines in the production of high quality parts. Responsibilities include monitoring the quality of components and clearly communicating to the supervisory team any issues. This role validates product quality through  SPC  and visual, dimensional, and functional quality checks as well as ensuring proper packaging.
  • Operates and monitors assembly equipment per prescribed safety, operational, and quality procedures to insure quality production
  • Verifies correctness of components from shop order to component number, to prevent mixed or wrong parts
  • Performs quality checks using various inspection gauges, microscopes, or calipers
  • Performs continuous quality checks to ensure that products meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements
  • Fills machine hoppers, performs rework, and sorts machine scrap
  • Loads and threads tubing into machinery, where necessary
  • Performs traceability and lot-control functions using a hand held scanner
  • Regulate equipment during emergency situations
  • Operate assembly machinery in a Clean Room Environment (if applicable)
  • Record operating data, such as process conditions, test results, or instrument readings
  • Maintain supplies by checking stock, anticipating, and requesting supplies
  • Maintain quality standards by conducting in-process inspection, line clearance, production records, and overall monitoring
  • Read fabrication orders to determine equipment settings and adjustments
  • Remove minor jammed materials from machines and readjust components as necessary to resume normal operations
  • Package finished products and prepare them for storage or shipment
  • Notify supervision of product quality or mechanical issues
  • Participate in product and equipment investigations
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with company procedures, rules and regulations and report any dangerous situations or malfunction of equipment

  • High school diploma or  GED  Experience:
  • One year of factory and/or machine operation experience preferred
  • 12 month outstanding performance in prior position (preferred)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Perform at a high pace environment and be able to work well under pressure
  • Complete math and mechanical aptitude test with a passing grade
  • Must possess basic PC and math skills
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Able to stand, walk, and bend during performance of expected duties.
  • Must have good mobility and must be able to routinely lift loads of 25-65 lbs. From floor level to above waist; Based on site location, must be able to occasionally lift over 100 pounds with frequent bending and twisting
  • Must have ability for sitting, standing, walking, pushing, twisting, climbing, bending, reaching, grasping, performing repetitive movements, working indoors, working in temperature extremes
  • Must be able to climb steps, have good vision, be able to hear warning signals, discern shades of color, read various inspection gauges, work effectively, communicate with others, and be willing to work as a member of a team
