Job Description

Our client is plastics manufacturing company that primarily focuses on products in the medical device industry. They are located in the Waterbury area and are seeking experienced Quoting Specialist on 1st Shift.  They offer an outstanding work environment with brand new machinery and it is also incredibly clean and organized on the floor. Responsibilities:
  • Maintains good working relationships with all customers and vendors.
  • Develops and maintains a high level of communication and collaboration with all functional groups.
  • Assist in achieving short and long-term strategic company profit and growth goals.
  • Responsible and accountable for the coordination and execution of customer required quotes.
  • Work with purchasing, supply chain, engineering, operations, finance, sales and customer service to secure all of the information needed to quote.
  • Work on improvements to the process through automation and envision the next generation of quoting process –continue to drive process forward –look for and implement best practices.
  • Gain an understanding of the manufacturing processes used in the cost structures of the quote.
  • Perform process and cycle time studies to support quoted numbers.
  • Work with engineering & operations to identify early multi-discipline project team input and consensus on project plans.
  • Provide internal cross-functional updates on customer requirements through the use of data driven systems and communications to ensure customer requirement commitments will be met.
  • Provide support on cost reductions, negotiations, sales analysis.
  • Customer communication regarding project / project status / delivery / qualification requirements.
  • Aid in the development and implement manufacturing / engineering programs to improve overall operations.
  • Develop, maintain and report on all quoting metrics.
  • Create quotes for new and existing projects and products.
  • Price updates on existing production items.
  • New programs for existing and new customers.
  • Develop new and/or improve existing quoting & costing practices.
  • Maintain all aspects/data on the quotes in process and quotes log.
  • Assist Director of Sales and Marketing with quote follow up and tracking, filing.
  • Work with purchasing to secure multiple levels of material quotes above and below our current purchase quantities.
  • Contact new and existing outside vendors for new part quotes including, but not limited to, metals, resin, concentrate, ink, labels, inserts, etc.
  • Train associates in quoting processes and information required to quote successfully.
  • Implement lean strategies in evaluating and streamlining quoting operations.
  • Support Project Managers in projects and tasks to support new product validations and launches.
  • Manage and lead projects with direct customer contact.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvements for molding, tooling, printing and all other manufacturing operations.
  • Develop & Manage project plans and activities to drive improvements.
  • Establish SMART goals & objectives
  • Perform other duties as required by management.
Qualifications:
  • 2 year degree in engineering.
  • 2+ years experience in costing, quoting, and manufacturing.
  • Strong experience with Excel, formula writing and math.
  • Microsoft Office Experience.
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems (IQMS is a plus).
  • Lean Manufacturing principles and IT applications.
  • Project Management experience.
  • SolidWorks is a plus!
  • Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes is a plus!
  • Bilingual is a plus!
Pay Rate:
$25.00-$33.00 Hourly

Schedule:
7: 00 AM - 3: 00 PM
