Job Description

International car rack and accessory manufacturer is  seeking a Quality Inspector and Measurement Specialist to assist in supporting manufacturing and the machine department.

Job Summary:
The inspection of materials to meet or exceed all specifications and requirements. Inspection includes receiving goods, FOT/FESO, non-routine (layout), finished goods and RMA products. Inspector will create and maintain inspection testing standards, calibration and product audits records. Work with engineering department performing FOT/FESO inspections. Processing of all assigned day-to-day work and assisting the Quality Engineers/Inspectors where and when required. Will additionally work in companies fabrication department inspecting welds performed.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain data bases, records and logs in accordance with ISO9001 standards
  • Create automatic inspection programs for Toolscope and Romer arm CMM' s.
  • Conduct First off tool/Final engineering sign off (FOT/FESO) sample inspection using appropriate gages/equipment.
  • Maintain equipment in accordance to Metrology procedures and instructions.
  • Assist with incoming inspections of raw material, purchased parts and new part approvals.
  • Conduct gage calibration and the purchase of new gages.
  • Create and conduct process capability studies in assembly and fabrication.
  • Train employees on the use of gages and measuring techniques.
  • Investigate complaints on existing products and root cause analysis / corrective action follow up.
  • Document and analyze returned internal or external product and suggest quality/design improvements.
  • Analyzes and resolves, assist workers in solving problems.
  • Help create or improve and implement quality systems, processes and programs.
  • Assist Quality Associates in assigned job functions.

Recommended Position Requirements:
  • 3-5 years' experience or equivalent work experience in the inspection and/or quality profession in Manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of inspection methods and techniques and understanding and implementation of receiving goods sampling, auditing techniques, and SPC/SQC interpretation.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge in GD&T.
  • Strong understanding of MSA.
  • Experience in leading process capability studies.
  • 2-3 years of CMM/Romer Arm/Vision experience required.
  • Computer literate MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, and Power Point).
  • Able to lift 75 lbs

8-5 Monday - Friday

Pay:
$24.00 - $25.00 per hour
