Job Description


Responsibilities

Lead continual improvement projects that target the elimination of waste and enhance the overall quality system to reduce internal defects and external customer complaints

Investigate root cause, collaborate with multifunctional teams, and respond to customer complaints

Resolve part specific problems and system related issues utilizing problem-solving techniques (i.E. 8D methodology, 6 sigma, DOE, 3 leg-5 why, Shanin, etc.)

Drive manufacturing process improvements using statistical process control techniques

Lead / participate in general problem solving with cross functional teams

Lead / participate in Customer meetings

Lead / facilitate the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)

Support APQP process through review and update of FMEA, control plans, work instructions, and other quality system documentation

Improve error and mistake proofing (poke-yoke) methods by working with multifunctional teams

Perform gage R&R studies and assist in metrology activities

Perform quality functions for new program launches.

Perform Internal Audits in accordance with IATF-16949 and customer specific requirements

Analyze the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data and develop action plans for improvement

Analyze quality metrics data and develop action plans for improvement

Ensure products conforms to quality standards

Create, review and approve Work Place Instructions/procedures

Train employees, Certify and Document

Model and promote cooperation / teamwork

Reinforce 5S (housekeeping) behaviors

Ensure a safe working environment

Support Safety procedures



Experience and Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on Engineering or Quality Skills

Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing environment

Proficient in the use of statistical process control software (Minitab preferred)

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills (Microsoft applications)

Six sigma training preferred (green/black belt)

Quality Engineering Certification (CQE) preferred
