Manages multiple projects/tasks to meet or exceed customer's expectations, including bringing all details to closure, on-time and within budget. Responsible for internal mold room personnel, work schedules, reviews and training in a GMP environment. Qualifies external vendors based on cost, service and quality. Coordinate internal and external repairs and modifications based on engineering projects.

Primary Responsibility
  1. Manages all in-house and external mold tooling activities.
  2. Understanding of injection molding processing, including scientific molding concepts.
  3. Maintain levels of spare tooling for all production molds.
  4. Develops and drives tooling innovation that improves cost, quality and capability.
  5. Quoting, scheduling and work flow management.
  6. Manages and develops mold maintenance personnel in technical execution, planning and decision making.
  7. Maintain all mold history files and data.
  8. Prepare report on tooling and component purchases as well as scrapped components on a weekly basis.
  9. Participate in detailed review of all tooling designs with vendors.
  10. Provide support to manufacturing and assembly areas.
  11. Work with vendors for on time mold delivery with updated reporting.
  12. Follow all first mold try-outs of new tooling until approval.
  13. Maintain mold and component prints and changes.
  14. Interface across multiple product development principles, assembly/manufacturing, quality, planning and processing.
  15. Additional responsibilities in an injection molding discipline.
  • Education
    • BS Degree or 10 years' experience in tooling design and development. Experience as a machinist or supervisor of automated systems is preferred. Industry-specific background is a plus in injection molding process. Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Demonstrate the ability to perform all aspects of their job with limited supervision.
  • Experience in multi-cavity high speed injection molding.
  • Computer skills in MS Word, Excel & SAP
  • Must demonstrate ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and project management skills.
  • To perform their duties in a safe and productive environment, to cooperate and help other members of the team meet company goals.

  • Preferred Additional Experience:
  • Any supervisory experience
  • Experience with Lean and DOE
  • Practical and Theoretical knowledge of SPC
  • Auto Cad, Pro Engineer, Solid Works & Mold Flow.
