Material Handler-Plastic Injecton Molding.
The role of the Material Handler is to insure the timely distribution of all supplies and materials to fulfill production requirements while adhering to ISO requirements The primary responsibilities include the transfer of all raw materials used in the production process and resulting finished goods, as well as the cleaning, hook-up and start-up of auxiliary equipment such as blenders, grinders and hoppers to support material and color changes. Key responsibilities include performing color changes, preparation, monitoring and maintenance of the material feeding system as well as product safety and the quality of goods produced. Job Elements & Position Responsibilities *Label and scanning production boxes. *Print shop orders and labels *Cleans and maintains material system *Cleans hoppers, grinders, blenders, regrind bins, colorant bins and material hoses for all material/color changes *Performs color/material changes. *Responsible for the hook-up and set-up and minor preventative maintenance of auxiliary equipment *Fill all surge and colorant bins *Pull, weigh and return colorant and material *Completing required worksheets (i.E. Machine clearance, changeover worksheet) *Prepare maintenance work orders. *Maintain accurate paperwork and work flows *Supply raw material to machines. *Inventory organization and control, housekeeping, safety communication with supervisor. *Make cartons and distribute to presses as well as maintain proper number of empty cartons at each press *Empty trash and weigh scrap daily *Analyze and resolve material related problems *Grind rejected production on and off the production floor *Load new work orders and parts *Sets up new orders and loads into machines *Bring finished goods to palletizer conveyor belts and loads *Remove waste *Perform other related duties assigned. Required Qualifications Education *Must possess high school diploma or GED Experience *One year of factory experience preferred *12 month outstanding performance in prior position (preferred). Skills *Ability to handle multiple tasks *Good organizational skills. *Perform at a high pace environment *Math and mechanical aptitude test with a passing grade *Basic Math *Must be able to read, write and speak English in order to communicate and understand relevant information relating to quality and production issues *Must have good mobility and must be able to routinely lift loads of 40-65 lbs. From floor level to above waist; Based on site location, must be able to occasionally lift over 100 pounds with frequent bending and twisting. *Must have ability for sitting, standing, walking, pushing, twisting, climbing, bending, reaching, grasping, performing repetitive movements, working indoors, working in temperature extremes *Must have high energy level and be able to work well under pressure *Must be able to hear warning signals and verbal alerts to avoid injury during manufacturing process *Must be able to discern shades of color and color differences relating to component parts used in the manufacturing process *Must have good vision in order to perform visual inspection duties *Must be able to work effectively, communicate with others and be willing to work as a member of a team *Must be able to follow instructions and work independently *Must be able to climb steps *Must possess basic computer skills *Team work and cooperation. *Must insure personal and working environment safety. *Use of clear communication.
