Quality Control/Inspector
Job Description
Our client is a privately owned metal finishing company that has been in business since the 1930's and are continuing to grow here in Connecticut. They offer competitive wages, great benefits ($6 per week for medical for single, and $12 per week for married plus family), and more importantly, an opportunity for career growth. We are seeking 1st shift Quality Control/Inspector with the opportunity for overtime on Saturday mornings from 7-11AM!

1st Shift:
7: 30 AM - 4 PM M-F
Pay Rate:
$20-$24 Hourly

Responsibilities:
- Test Parts while production is running and log all test data.
- Inspect work in progress, ensure work is done properly to spec.
- Answer quality questions that arise in production.
- Assist with maintaining blueprints, specification files, reject reports, cert files, and MSDS files.
- Use quality control lab equipment efficiently and effectively.
- Teach/train/inform workers of quality issues that must be adhered to on individual jobs as well as job function and responsibilities, discipline employees if necessary, regarding quality.
- Sign off outgoing work.
- Interface with customers on quality issues.
- Maintain ISO 9001: 2015 documentation & orchestrate audits.
- Manage corrective actions, both customer specific (ie 8D) and those generated through our ERP system.
- Write up customer specific corrective action reports.
- Ensure job travelers are being filled out properly.
- Fill out any customer specific paperwork (certs, flowcharts, testing, etc).
- Fill out customer specific forms (ie PPAP, CQI-12, PFMEA, PSW).
- Fill out customer quality surveys and customer compliance reports.
- Develop efficiency in employee productivity and machine productivity.
- Assist fellow employees as necessary.
- Report to management.
Qualifications:
- Work with VP/GM making sure quality is maintained throughout production daily
- Computer skills: word, outlook, professional email
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge in chemistry and follow supplier chemistry test methods
- To understand & effectively implement the responsibilities listed above
- Ability to evaluate and solve coating problems
- Be able to read, write, count, decipher product numbers
- Follow job order instructions
- Good interaction skills with people
- Bilingual is a plus!
