MIG/TIG Welder
Job Description
Looking to work in a clean, technical and safe environment? How about a company that has paid their temporary workforce for snow days when the plant was closed?
Our client is a growing pump manufacturing and engineering company located in New Haven. We are seeking MIG/TIG Welders. They will be responsible for various types of weld prep and weld finishing operations to manufacture products per blueprint specifications.

Pay and Schedule:
$25-$35/hr based on experience
Monday through Friday 7: 30-4pm with 30 min lunch
10 vacation days plus 7 PTO days annually

Our client is a growing pump manufacturing and engineering company located in New Haven. We are seeking MIG/TIG Welders. They will be responsible for various types of weld prep and weld finishing operations to manufacture products per blueprint specifications.
Duties:
- Use TIG or MIG Pulse welding processes to weld stainless steel components of 304 and 316 metal products.
- Will be performing pipe welding.
- Must be able to interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, and tolerances.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
- Set up and operate hand and power tools, such as angle grinder, TIG welder and gas metal arc welding equipment.
- Select proper filler rods according to base metal specifications.
- Grind or cut edges of work pieces to be joined to ensure snug fit, using angle grinders and hand tools.
- Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have TIG welding experience.
- MIG welding will also be done experience is a plus.
- Must be willing to learn pipe welding if candidate doesn't already possess previous pipe welding experience.
- Welding certificates a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in GTAW & GMAW-P welding forms and reading blueprints.
- Experience with modular fixturing a plus.
- Must be able to read a tape measure and perform simple math
- Requires use of Protective or Safety Equipment such as shoes, glasses, gloves, etc.
- Able to work both sitting and standing.
- Able to lift 50 Pounds.
