Our client is a very large employer located in Shelton. They have over 300 employees and are a plastics manufacturer. They make many of the plastic containers you find in your local grocery store. The company has a 24/7 operation with a lot of stability and growth opportunity. Many of their employees are highly tenured. They are currently seeking a Tool Prep Mechanic

Responsibilities:
- Disassembly, cleaning and inspection of tools and components.
- Assembly of tools per bill of materials and blueprints.
- Measurement of tool components using micrometers, calipers and dial indicators.
- Repair of tooling with respect to deburring, drilling and taping holes.
- Generation tool repair requisitions.
- Visual inspection, grinding, and sharpening High Die knives using grinding machines and hand tools.
- Operates machine tools such as a milling machine, surface grinder, parts washer, band saw, cut off saw, arbor press and hoists.
- Must maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Trade school, post grad trades in addition to one or more years of related experience in a machine field;or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to communicate one-on-one and in groups. Ability to understand instructions and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to carry out detailed written and oral instructions. Ability to solve problems.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read tape measure, calculate ratios, and calculate square footage.
