Job Description

Our client is an international metal precision manufacturer that focuses on metal springs, progressive stampings, machined components, and assembly work for almost 80 years, and has over 400 employees! They have been supporting various industries including medical, defense, aerospace, and other government industries. They make a wide variety of parts for a large number of customers! They are currently seeking a Tool & Diemaker for the Auto Power Press Department on 2nd Shift.

Responsibilities:
  • Set-up - Trouble shoot & Maintenance of Secondary Tooling including but not limited to First piece quality submission.
  • Follow process for documenting Tool History and Set-up information ( reference Brown Card)
  • Build secondary tooling for limited production runs.
  • Fabricate fixtures –gages & open tooling as needed to meet low volume part production.
  • Alert Supervisor when there is a need for –Machine Maintenance & Tool Maintenance on Production tooling.
  • Assist in the Standardization of Tooling Component Inventory
  • Alerts Supervisor on updates and corrections needed on job travelers for operation changes/additions
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Component/Tooling Fabrication, Trouble Shooting Tooling and Repairing Blank & Forming Tooling. Set-up –Trouble shooting Production of Secondary Blank & Form presses/tools (60T-176T).
  • CT approved (apprenticeship completed) journeyperson preferred
  • Ability to read - understand blue prints (GDT) as needed for production manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge and practical experience with the use of statistical process control in production environments.
  • Working knowledge of ISO quality standards and practical experience with the use of statistical
  • process control in a production environment.
  • An understanding of Manufacturing Engineering - Quality Engineering - Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and its components (i.E. Kaizen, Kanban, SMED, 5S, etc.)
  • Familiar with principles of concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Experience with production standards, cost of quality and manufacturing methods.
  • Detail & Task driven work ethic.

$40-$45 Hourly
