Job Description

Our client, a commercial and residential plumbing & HVAC supply company, is seeking a HVAC Mechanic that will be responsible for oil and gas burner services. This candidate will work at the shop but mainly in the field servicing residential.

Duties:
  • Installs, maintains, and repairs heating systems that use oil burners in residential and commercial buildings
  • Perform diagnostics on oil burners, boilers, furnaces, and other oil-fired heating equipment to identify and resolve issues. This includes using diagnostic tools to pinpoint mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Install new oil-fired heating systems, including burners, boilers, and furnaces. This involves connecting components to fuel, ventilation, and electrical systems according to manufacturer specifications and local codes.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance, including seasonal cleaning and servicing. Tasks include cleaning the burner assembly, inspecting and vacuuming flues, checking for leaks, and replacing worn or defective parts.
  • Address emergency service calls and troubleshoot system malfunctions to ensure prompt and efficient repairs.
  • Clearly explain service needs, repair options, and maintenance recommendations to customers. Document all work performed, parts used, and system findings accurately.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including OSHA standards, manufacturer guidelines, and local building codes

Qualifications:
  • HVAC license required;B2, B1 or S2 or S1 License
  • 2 year apprentice would also be considered
  • Proven experience in maintaining, repairing, and installing oil burners and associated heating equipment.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as EPA certification, may also be needed.
  • Strong understanding of HVACR components and the ability to assemble, repair, and program them as needed.
  • Ability to navigate computer systems and service management software for record-keeping.
  • Flexibility to work on-call, evenings, and weekends for emergency service calls

Schedule:
The store is open 8: 15 - 5, Monday through Friday & 8: 30-2: 00 on Saturday. Your shift will be slightly varied as you share coverage with co-workers. Total 40 hrs.

Pay:
Dependent on Experience.
