Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineering Support Clerk position involves performing a variety of duties to support our manufacturing operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of processes.

 Salary Range: $52, 000 to $60, 000

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Data Entry and Documentation:
  • Accurately enter and maintain engineering and manufacturing data in the IFS system, including the creation of part numbers, product structures, routings, and work guidelines.
  • Prepare and update engineering documents.
  • Maintain records of engineering changes and updates to ensure all documentation is current.
  • Maintain documents and related files in the ISO database.
  • Maintain and monitor controlled document log.
  • Maintain and monitor calibration schedule.
  • Create and maintain Safety and Quality Alerts.
Product Development and Support:
  • Assist the Engineering staff with new Product Launch Packages.
  • Assist with creating documents for new product designs in collaboration with customers, sales, and manufacturing teams.
  • Assist the Engineering staff with the release of drawings and engineering documents to manufacturing and other departments.
Operational Support:
  • Write work instructions, quality documents, and procedures as required.
  • Maintain information in the Maintenance database, including Internal Corrective Actions, Preventive Actions, Facility Equipment, Preventive Maintenance tasks, and schedules.
  • Write operational work instructions for equipment, including Lockout/Tagout, maintenance database, and IFS Scripts.
Coordination and Communication:
  • Assist the Engineering staff with writing and issuing Engineering Change Notices and Die Packages.
  • Provide daily production support by entering and analyzing daily, weekly, and monthly data for KOI’s.
  • Assist the Engineering staff with processing Engineering Help Desk requests.
  • Assist with customer requests for product specifications.
  • Assist with the proofreading of Durham Manufacturing Catalogs and website content.
  • Assist in the implementation and training of employees in IFS and manufacturing procedures.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other departments, including Customer Service, Purchasing, and Operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding any issues encountered.
 
Safety & Maintenance:
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Follows all safety rules and policies and immediately reports unsafe conditions to the supervisor
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Engage in all required training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary to support team goals and operations.
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  1. High school diploma or equivalent;an associate degree or technical certification in a related field is preferred.
  2. Proven experience in a clerical or administrative role, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  4. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  8. Familiarity with IFS system or similar ERP systems is a plus.
  9. Ability to sit for extended periods and perform data entry tasks.
  10. Occasionally required to lift and move office supplies and equipment up to 25 pounds.
 Salary Range: $52, 000 to $60, 000
