Job Description
Our client has been in business since the 1990' s and is one of the states larger sheet metal fabrication shops located in Shelton, CT. They make and finish large products right on site such as railway safety carts and X-Ray machines for airports and boarder security. They have 170 employees are increasing their work force and did not shut down during the pandemic. They are adding a 30, 000 square foot addition on to their shop as they are continuing to grow. They are seeking seeking CNC candidates with operation/setup experience press brake/punch presses. They offer roughly 50 hour works weeks with competitive pay, lots of overtime opportunity, and great benefits.
Selling Points:
6: 00 AM - 4: 30 PM, 7: 00 AM - 4: 30 PM (9-10 hour work days)
Additional OT Offered Saturday Mornings 7 - 12
Pay Rate:
$18 - $26 (commensurate with experience)

- Operation and set up of press brake/punch press CNC machines.
- Creating thin gauge sheet metal to heavy gauge metal plates in a job shop atmosphere.
- Will be forming parts on a 100 ton to 500 ton CNC hydraulic press brakes in short runs with high variety.
- Will be programming simple jobs at the machines controls.
- Working with high mix, low volume parts.
- 2-3 years experience (will consider less for the right candidate)
- Must be able to utilize dial calipers & adjustable protractors to measure flanges and angles and the ability to read mechanical blueprints.
- Knowledge of both metric system and inch system.
- Clearly be able to identify and use upper punch/lower die sets and all forming tools.
- Being able to to understand bend deductions and calculating flat patterns is a plus.
- Knowledge of editing of programs created off line & editing parameters via the machine control is preferred.
