Job Description
Our client is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to serving our local community. They are seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial transactions and support fiscal transparency and compliance efforts.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting practices
-
Record all financial transactions including accounts payable, receivable, donations, and payroll
-
Manage monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
-
Prepare financial reports as needed
-
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and grant-specific financial tracking
-
Support audits, tax filings (e.G., Form 990), and grant compliance reviews
-
Track restricted and unrestricted funds and ensure proper allocation of expenses
-
Maintain vendor records and ensure timely payment of bills
-
Reconcile donor management software reports with accounting records
-
Collaborate with external accountants or auditors when necessary
Qualifications:
-
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
-
3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector
-
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and donor management systems (e.G., DonorPerfect, Bloomerang, etc.)
-
Strong knowledge of nonprofit fund accounting and grant tracking, a plus
-
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
-
Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Preferred Skills:
-
Experience with federal, state, or private grants
-
Familiarity with payroll systems (e.G., Gusto, ADP)

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly Rate: $25 $40/hour depending on experience
