Job Description
The T-Shirt Printing & Vinyl Personalization Technician is responsible for producing customized apparel by operating a heat press machine and industrial vinyl cutter . This role involves preparing vinyl designs, weeding, aligning graphics, pressing garments, performing quality checks, and ensuring that finished products meet company standards. The technician must demonstrate strong attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency while working in a fast-paced production environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heat press machiner y to apply names, logos, and designs to t-shirts, smocks, uniforms, and other garments.
- Use industrial vinyl cutting machines to cut letters, logos, and custom graphics.
- Prepare artwork and design layouts using cutting/design software.
- Weed and prepare vinyl transfer material before heat pressing.
- Align and position vinyl designs accurately on garments before final pressing.
- Ensure correct temperature, pressure, and time settings for different fabrics and vinyl types.
- Inspect finished products for alignment, quality, durability, and visual presentation.
- Maintain organized work areas, manage inventory of vinyl rolls, transfer tape, and garment stock.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance such as blade changes and press cleaning.
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE when operating hot press equipment.
- Meet daily production targets while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
- Communicate equipment issues, supply needs, or quality concerns to Supervisor.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience with heat press or vinyl cutting machines preferred (training can be provided).
- Ability to use design/cutting software such as:
- FlexiSIGN, CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, VinylMaster, Silhouette, Cricut Studio, or similar.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accurate spelling, sizing, and placement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual precision for weeding vinyl.
- Basic troubleshooting ability for equipment adjustments.
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.
